Although I'm a huge fantasy geek and write what's considered by some to be high fantasy, I have a confession to make. I've never read The Hobbit.
Yes, I'll hang my head in shame now while you publicly ridicule me.
I think it has something to do with that AWFUL animated version of The Hobbit that came out in 80s, but I've never had any desire to read the book until recently... and that's only because I've been following Peter Jackson's video blogs on the making of The Hobbit. In truth, I never read The Lord of the Rings trilogy until after I saw The Fellowship of the Ring, and even then, I only saw the movie because of some of the eye-candy in it. Now I can at least say I've read one of the "classics" in my genre.
What are some of the "classics" of your favorite genre that you've never read or have dragged your heels into reading?
