Last week a full length trailer for John Carter was released. Adapted from Edgar Rice Burroughs' 11-volume Barsoom series. Though certainly epic Science Fiction, fans of the Fantasy genre can also find elements to enjoy about John Carter. Mars is depicted as a world full of warring tribes, dead cities, princesses, superstition and adventure.
As for me? I will watch any film with awesome aliens in it. Though technically, John Carter is the alien in this series. I am also a sucker for Mark Strong (in any film) playing the villain. He plays such a good villain! However, I am a little wary of Lynn Collins. She plays a princess who fights with John Carter as well as does that overly dramatic spin in her white dress.
Thoughts? Are you ready to take a trip to Mars with John Carter or does the Disney logo and Science Fiction label put you off?
