Raise your hand if you are going to participate in NaNoWriMo. You know, that really fun, really stressful month where you write 50K? It starts November 1.
Read about it here: http://www.nanowrimo.org/
If you haven't participated before, I strongly encourage you to give it a try. It is free (yay!), fun (why, oh why is it in November...), and by the end of the month, you have shiny new words! The site has lots of fun forums and helpful forums and informative forums--all *candy* to keep you from writing.
During NaNoWriMo, you aren't supposed to edit or go back over what you have already written. This is very difficult for me. Like CRAZY difficult. I am addicted to editing. When I have done Nano in the past, I've actually resorted to saving each day's work in a separate file so I won't be tempted to "tweak" the previous day's work.
Who doesn't love seeing the word count meter rise? Who doesn't want to be cheered on daily? And even if you don't meet the 50K goal, you should have more new words than you started with...
So, raise your hand if you are participating! I am going to unofficially participate--mainly so I can sneak in some edits. How about you?
